Economy & Population

The Laughlin area is among the fastest growing communities in the Southwest, with employment opportunities in many sectors and a housing market that has sustained itself in spite of the downward trend nationwide. New investment in the area by major companies such as Home Depot, Lowes, Sam's Club and restaurant chains like Chili's and Long John Silver's are indicative of the continued good health of the regional economy. The next few months will see groundbreakings for a new Target store and Olive Garden restaurant, plus the entry into the market of Ross Dress For Less and Outback Steakhouse in existing retail space. And of course, the backbone of the community is the long list of mom-and-pop small businesses still going strong and continuing to expand.
